How we review

Our method: sources, site visits, fixed scoring weights and how we keep facts up to date.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

[PLACEHOLDER: review this text and adjust it to how you actually work before launch.]

Factsheets first

Every development starts as a factsheet: stage, number of homes, prices, expected completion, developer and location — and nothing else. Each fact comes from a source listed at the bottom of the page (developer website, sales brochure, planning documents, land registry). If we can’t source a fact, we leave it out.

Every factual page shows “Last verified”: the date we last checked those facts against the sources.

Reviews

A development gets a full review only after we have visited it in person. The review page shows the visit date, our scores, a short verdict and what we liked and what to watch.

Scores

Each review scores five areas from 1 to 10. The overall score is calculated automatically with fixed weights — the same for every development. We cannot adjust it by hand, and nobody can pay to change it.

Independence

  • Developers do not pay us for factsheets, reviews or scores.
  • If a page is ever sponsored, or if we have any relationship with a developer or agent mentioned on a page, the page says so at the top.
  • [PLACEHOLDER: describe any other rules you follow, e.g. how you handle press trips or invitations.]

Corrections

If something on a page is wrong or out of date, please tell us. We update the page and its “Last verified” date.
